Community Day

Come and join a great family day out and a fun-packed celebration of football and cricket at Bramall Lane, home of Sheffield United, on Sunday, 18th May 2008, from 10am until 4pm. Entrance is free.

The Community Day is a partnership between Sheffield United, the United Initiative and Football Unites, Racism Divides. The day will begin with cricket being brought back to the Lane in the form of a 20/20 game between celebrities from Sheffield United and Sheffield Friends. The teams will include former United players Ted Hemsley Tony Currie and Mark Todd.

In the afternoon, FURD will be organising 6-a-side football tournaments with local teams, and there will be an opportunity to play a game of Streetkick before FURD’s famous inflatable leaves for a tour of Austria and Switzerland during Euro 2008.

Other entertainment will be confirmed closer to the time but will include children’s activities such as a bouncy castle and slide, face painting and balloon art.

Also, visit the stalls in the Executive Suites to find out about organisations working to make the local area a better place, and enjoy some food from local and cultural providers.

For more details email United at community@sufc.co.uk or FURD. Enquiries about stalls, displays and food to Lisa Sultanti at FURD.
