Double life of stadium announcer

Football Unites, Racism Divides are holding the second ‘Chantwriters’ event at The Workstation, Paternoster Row, Sheffield, on Saturday 16th October, as part of the national anti-racism week of action in football.

The evening will feature a performance by the stadium announcer at Brighton’s Withdean Stadium, John Baine – aka Attila The Stockbroker. Attila, an Albion fan since the age of six, likes to arrange his gigs around the Brighton fixture list – so a trip to see his beloved Seagulls at Gresty Road next Saturday will be followed by a dash over to Sheffield for the Chantwriters event that evening.

The first half will be led by Football Unites’ own poet in residence and Manchester City fanatic, Ralph Hancock, and the giving out of half-time oranges will be accompanied by an acoustic set from members and friends of local band, Hangin’ on to Harry, including their version of ‘Economic Migrants’.

Doors open at 8.00pm, admission is £4 (£3 cons) and you can pay on the door.
