As part of Refugee Week activities in Sheffield, FURD is joining with Sheffield & Hallamshire County Football Association, Sheffield First for Safety and the Refugee Housing Association to organise the All Nations Football Festival Tournament on Sunday June 22nd. The 7-a-side tournament is running at the Goodwin Sports Centre, Northumberland Road, Sheffield, from 11am to 5pm and Sheffield-based teams representing Afghanistan, Angola, Chile, Somalia and Iraq will be taking part. The winners will go on to compete in the Unity Cup national 7-a-side tournament in Manchester on the weekend of 2nd-3rd August. It is hoped the tournament will be the trigger for longer-term activities such as a summer league. For more details contact Desbon Bushiri or Howard Holmes at FURD on 0114 2553156.
