Sharrow Unitedīs winning start

Sharrow United FC, sponsored by FURD, got off to a flyer in their opening game of the season. Sharrow, who have strengthened their squad with the addition of several exciting young players, beat Richmond 4-2 in their first match in the Premier Division of the Sheffield Regional Alliance Sunday League.

Mish Khan opened the scoring early in the first half, and Sharrow missed several good opportunities before Kamran Khan hit a sweet shot into the top corner as half-time approached.

In the second period the visitors put up more of a fight, but Sharrow were always in command, with newcomer Quiyum Rahman and Asim Shazad adding goals in response to a couple of fine strikes from Richmond.
